THAT’S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR is a fun filled, fast paced look into the lives of these two friends who
instead of just telling each other how they feel, use the guise of career advancement and job placement
to indulge in their ever growing mutual desire for one another. Bridget Midway does an amazing job
capturing the emotional upheaval of going from strictly friends to lovers. I had a wonderful time
immersing myself in the characters’ personalities and the quirky situations they’d find themselves
embroiled in throughout this tale.

That's What Friends Are For by Bridget Midway is hilarious and endearing; a multi-faceted gem showing
us just about every miscommunication that can possibly keep two soul mates from discovering the
perfect person is right there and feels the same. It is a delicious take on what happens when the head
cheerleader and the biggest nerd from high school both grow up and overcome their insecurities. While
this is a story line we see in books and movies often, Ms. Midway effortlessly makes it new and shiny. I
certainly cannot help but be swept along in the rush to turn the next page with this one.
Both Ned and Fiona could be any number of people with whom I graduated high school and they feel
real in every since of the word. Insecurities abound and make it so very easy to relate to both these
lovable characters. The secondary characters add flavor and motive. The plot is like the perfect
cheesecake; filling, smooth and not a single crack to mar its perfection. Ms. Midway's love scenes are
fun and endearing as well as hot enough to melt wax from across the room. This is one of those
romances where the beauty of the story has you returning to read it again and again; the amazing sex
scenes are the whipped cream and strawberries that top it off.

Can best friends become lovers and have their friendship survive? Bridget Midway’s That’s What
Friends Are For explores what happens when best friends become lovers. Fiona and Ned have been
friends since high school and have hidden their desire for one another for a long time. As the passion
erupts between them, each is afraid that they risk losing the other’s friendship. I enjoyed that Ms.
Midway had Fiona and Ned each going through individual career drama but willing to place their own
problems on the back burner to help the other.

Wit and humour are the two traits I so wish I possessed, but it's not to be, *sigh*. However, these
characteristics feature in Ned, who takes great delight in labelling his co-workers and delving into
masturbatory fantasises, as soon as you dive into the novel. I always have a soft spot for those who can
make me laugh with amazing regularity and Bridget Midway is one of those such people. Not only is her
depiction of passion and love so remarkable but she pours her heart and soul into each of these
novels. And, I might say, they all have their own unique style.
It just doesn't get better than this :)

One of the funniest and wittiest nerd’s I’ve ever been exposed to, Ned was the kind of man everyone
woman needs to experience once in their lifetime. Where do I sign up for a man like this? Sweet as
caramel candy, considerate, loyal and protective are just a few of the attributes that make him a winner,
his inhibitions where sex with Fiona is concerned doesn’t hurt either. Especially considering his actual
lack of hands on experience. Fiona is flavor in the Mocha Carmel latte millions of American’s are
addicted to and must have on a daily basis. Spontaneous, impassioned, silly and loving she is every
guy’s dream. Sadly to say that her major quandary, people’s inability to see past her beauty at the
wonderful and creative person she really is. This actually creates a touch of insecurity because she’s
always wondering when people will finally see her and or if when her best friend does will he drop her
like a hot potato.
An eroticized version of the office, That’s What Friend’s Are For, is a shining star and one of the best
contemporaries to grace the pile of TBRs (To Be Reads) on my laptop this year. Everything was perfect
even the titling of the chapters as previews of lessons to be learned at every corner stone in their final
evolution as friends and finally lovers. I loved the references to urban culture and the easy way these
two lived, laughed and cherished each other. No unnecessary conflicts, plenty of carefree loving, with
the grand finale being the desired happily ever after we all wanted to see. I hope this is only the
beginning of what we can expect from this new up and coming author.

That’s What Friends are For is a fun read! It’s witty, charming, young and hip. You’ve got to sympathize
with Ned and Fiona’s insecurities. The two of them are so worried about the other’s reaction to their
personal feelings, that they’re both afraid to make the first move and once they do, they’re afraid they
can never go back. And, having two kids about the same age as these two, I can certainly understand
the immaturity that comes into play here, even when the plans are well meaning. The sex is hot, but not
over the top and Bridget Midway is to be congratulated on creating likeable characters that could be
living next door.

Ms. Midway has written a book that is impossible to put down. It will keep you up until the wee hours
reading page after page. The sex is intense. This book will show that the very best relationships start

I started reading this novel and in my mind it was just going to be a book filled with vulgar sex and no
story. Amazingly I was surprised as I couldn’t/wouldn’t put this book down. I found the author to be an
amazing story weaver. Not only did I enjoy the story, but I was entranced by the descriptive yet sensual
lovemaking acts. As a reviewer, I have found myself reading other books that were billed as erotic just
for me to determine mid way that it was nothing more than pornographic. The sex in this book was
tasteful and perfectly executed without reference to crude descriptions of anatomy. I applaud Ms.
Midway for not only being a very talented author by for being able to put across on paper that erotic
does not mean vulgarity but can yet be a very beautiful experience.

That’s What Friends Are For is just an all around cute book. It made me laugh and Ned’s humor made
me roll my eyes. Whoever says that friends can’t be lovers did not read this book. While my ideal man is
not a computer "geek", Ned comes across as being extremely sexy in a humorous sort of way. Fiona, on
the other hand, is not your average head cheerleader. Smart, sassy, and funny, she compliments Ned
completely. Bridget Midway has a winner with That’s What Friends Are For. Having previously only read
one book from Ms. Midway, I hoped that this book would be just as good as the first one I read. I was
not disappointed!

THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR is an interesting twist on some common romantic themes. The fact
that this story builds on the beauty and nerd theme and leads to so much more makes it a joy to read
and keeps the reader interested in seeing what will happen next. This story has some nice twists and
turns. When they enter into a sexual relationship it is very steamy and their long buried feelings for one
another show how two people who know everything about the other can miss the one thing that brings
them the most pleasure as well as bitter pain. The ending is nicely done with a satisfying twist that
allows all the pieces to fall into place. This story does an excellent job of taking the reader on a journey
of self discovery for both the characters. THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR is a well written book with
an engaging storyline and two characters that are made for one another despite initial appearances.

This book is great and very entertaining. Fiona is the ultimate schemer and tries to find ways around
the rules. I love the fact that this is an interracial couple, but the focus is not on race at all but the
relationship between the two main characters. The love scenes are hotter than hot and will heat up any
reader. Bridget Midway is a wonderful writer who has lots of talent and it shows in her writing. This book
breaks down racial barriers without it being the main focus. I can't wait to see what she comes up with
for her next book.

This fast-paced story asks some intriguing questions: Can best friends who become lovers remain best
friends? And just how well do we know our best friends? Midway does a wonderful job of showing not
only the hot, romantic side of a new relationship but also the stumbles, insecurities and jumbled
emotions. When it's all put together, you have one fun and entertaining tale.

Ms. Midway has done a good job of setting the scene and creating the situations that the characters
react to...There were some great scenes—the bar scene with the Jimmy Choos and then a favorite was
the thunderstorm scene without lights and then the reaction when the lights came on.
The friends into lovers story is always difficult to get right—the scene has to be set and then the
characters have to be familiar but not so familiar with each other and then there needs to be the push
that takes the relationship from just friends into the next stratosphere—hopefully for the good of both
characters. Ms. Midway has done a good job of telling the friends into lovers story of Ned and Fiona!
That's What Friends Are For is well worth a read!
